Abstract  As the mainstay of the Western Bank of the Taiwan Strait Economic Region, the economic development of Fujian attracts much attention. Meanwhile, as China's closest province to Taiwan, the economic development of Fujian is of great significance for the whole Taiwan Strait Economic Region and even for China, too. Taiwan faces Fujian but they are separated by the Taiwan Strait. In China, Fujian is geographically closer to Taiwan than any other province, and two provinces have much in common, such as their economy, culture, climate, landscape and so on. Because of the similarity listed above, it is reasonable for Fujian to make use of the experiences and economic policies of Taiwan for reference. Making an analogy with kinetic energy of moving object, this essay calculates and draws a comparison between Fujian and Taiwan's kinetic energy of economy, three industries and manufacturing industry in different stages of industrialization. Conducting research in this way not only considers the effect that GDP and the value-added of industry have on the development of regional economy, but also considers how the economic growth rate influences the development of regional economy, and thus makes the result more scientific and comprehensive. Then the essay analyses the policy of Fujian and Taiwan in different stages of industrialization, and come to the conclusions that being different from Taiwan, Fujian is among the latecomers of industrialization, but the economic kinetic energy of Fujian has high staring point and expands rapidly; Fujian's second industry is well ahead of third industry, thus Fujian's experiencing rapid upgrading of industrial structure; core sector in Fujian and Taiwan are complementary and the change of core sector are similar with each other to some degree.
